11/30/2017 0 Comments Make Summerport Great AGain!by theobold peacekeeper (Alan H) 23HS 1AETL;DR Make Summerport Great Again. Kenku live in “Winterport”. Adventure is open! Account from Theobold Peacekeeper: Our ship, the “Whisper Dawn” arrived in Summerport under interesting circumstances. Two ships were actually fleeing the city as we arrived, and dropped us with two adventurers, Thrugg and Dwain, that were supposedly behind the reason they fled. Tales of undead and wolves were on their lips. As our boat sailed along the coast, a giant constrictor snake boarded the boat from the cliffs and we made short work of it, especially with Dorros’s distracting moves. Summerport had an unexpected surprise, as we got closer the temperature dropped from tropical to downright freezing. The bay of the port was even blocked by ice! I did not come equipped for this…. Our guides, Thrugg and Durros, were certainly interesting as they began leading us to the Thieves Tankard, a supposed stronghold of civilians. They claimed to be from a past when the city was whole, nearly 700 years ago. They both seem mentally unsound, so I am skeptical of their words. As we approached our destination, we spotted an ambush ahead of some sort of feathered humanoids. With a well-placed entangle from Tharrus, they were caught in the vines and their ambush thwarted. Only one Kenku fell before I convinced the leader to stand his men down, just as a lizardman, Salazar approached with guards of his own from the other side. Unliked the lizardfolk of the bayou, Salazar spoke perfect common, as he told us he was part of this group from 700 years ago, presumably before the Cataclysm. I am still reeling from this knowledge and cannot wait to probe them further on the knowledge they might have.

11/30/2017 0 Comments Return to the forbidden dungeonby vandil (Alex P) 28 HSCleared the remaining unexplored rooms of an ancient flooded structure a half days trek from BRI. A pack of shimmerscale lizardfolk had taken residence in the lower rooms, attempting to loot the deepest room. We proactively defended ourselves against them and found the treasure hoard behind the final door.
Oh there was a pile of ancient sylvan corpses in another back room. Builders of the structure carved this near the treasure hoard: “The warrior of the four seasons steps between the worlds on the fullest night." Tonight is the new moon, is that when night is most full? Are these words connected to the four obelisks rumored to be in this swamp? 11/30/2017 0 Comments Landing in summerportby Mindartis (Michael D.) 3 Spring fellTL;DR: Mindartis recounts his first adventure in the frozen island of Summerport. Meets a party who claim to be from 700 years before. Read Salazar's Recap | Read Theobold's Recap I had hoped that my living conditions would improve upon disembarking from that leaky tub the captain had generously called a “ship”, but alas. Summerport is not quite what Quarion had promised. If those dullards running the mage college had taken the time to actually study my treatise instead of unceremoniously throwing me out the door, I would not be in this predicament. But I digress. “Summerport”. What a joke of a name. I didn’t pack anything warm thinking I was going to a tropical paradise. Quarion promised palm trees! Not this apocalyptic winter. But it seems this trip wasn’t a complete waste of time. I had barely touched what the innkeeper put in front of me (barely digestible) when a local paladin started babbling about building a church. Fool he may be, but he did mention having troubles with a raised skeleton that caught my attention. Could I be that lucky? Signs of reanimation practically at my (new) doorstep? I followed the zealot across the street and queried him as he started work on this church (apparently to some fictional deity he calls Gaia. Insanity.). Apparently the town has been plagued by various ghoulish apparitions recently. The paladin’s companion, a fairly eloquent (at least for Summerport) lizardfolk by the name of Salazar started to impart some tale of how the natives here are actually from the distant past and had mysteriously found themselves anachronistically lost. I’m not sure if he takes me for a rube or honestly believes this story. He seemed sincere. The paladin, Bryn I believe his name was, was easily distracted and soon become consumed by the idea that more of the area needed to be cleared in order to praise his deity. Simpleton he may be, but I got the lizard to promise to help preserve a reanimated specimen if I went along. Joined by a dwarf (Female? Male? I’m never quite sure with their species) we set off to see what we could do. And such things we found! Minor reanimates to be sure, but helpful in my studies none the less! An assortment of suspended reanimate hands were practically infesting the neighborhood. Easily dispatched (except apparently for the dwarf who kept applying them to his/her face. Not a great way to kill them unless by smell), but could hold the clues I am searching for. I sketched many of them, though many were too decimated by the overeager efforts of the paladin, obscuring what I’m sure was crucial knowledge. A ghast and half a zombie were also found, and sketches of them will also be attached here. We were able to clear all the way up to a huge obelisk. Curiously, the natives didn’t seem to know too much about it. Could it be connected to the undead? A mystery to unravel for another time. For now, I must collect my thoughts and prepare new spells. Darkness permeates this village, perhaps there will be more to learn here than I thought. 11/30/2017 0 Comments in search of a fiend. Nope.by hekili nalani (Vera D.) 28HSI joined a party of adventurers to check out a sunken dungeon. Vandil, the wood elf, mounted on a giant wolf spider, had been there before and wanted to make sure the dungeon was cleared out. I went hoping to find some evil souls to return to the Fiend. What we found were screeching mushrooms and about 10 lizardfolk of the Shimmerscale clan.
We defeated the lizardfolk although it took a while in the water-filled room. I am still practicing my Eldritch Blast...It sparks and crackles, and sometimes blasts. I hope to have better control next time! Krolon the dwarf opened up a room and we found a hoard of treasure plus a wall with sylvan writing: The warrior of the four seasons steps between the worlds on the fullest night." I don't know what that means but the others who have been on this island for a while say it's related to the sea hags and four obelisks that imprison undead sylvans. 11/28/2017 0 Comments trip to tortle islandby kellen McCall (steve b.) 24 -25 hsI set off to Tortle Island, also called Omgar with a few new companions: Halfling Brothers Benedict and Roscoe, a Dwarf named Morgrimm, a Songwee an Elf and Heliki a Tortle. Yeah, Tortle. It’s like…. A Turtle-Man. We set out to explore Omgar and after a nice visit in Ahoy Ahoy, the Tortle village, we went off to visit the Mudpool of Flurrb. Flurrb, with two R’s, I don’t know how to pronounce it, so I’ll pronounce it as flub, fair enough? Mudbath is highly recommended by myself and Benedict, felt wonderful to soak for an hour. There are three pools, we soak in one and felt great, next time another pool! From the mudpools, we went to investigate a snake shrine. At the snake shrine, two snakes came out and talked to us. Talking snakes and turtle people? Will wonders never cease? Snakes wanted us to return their gods Merishalk’s icons which were stolen by boulder creatures who live in a cave. Off we go to the cave! Lo and behold, there are boulder creatures that live in a cave not far away. Like, boulder creatures; small boulders with arms and legs. They’ve got shiny crystals inside them. Yeah, we had to kill a bunch of them. I had quite the hard time penetrating their thick rocky skin. Also in the caves was a creature…gods and blood how to describe it… a snail with flails on it’s back. Let’s call it a flailsnail shall we? We do manage to defeat all the rock guys and the flailsnail, find some treasure and head back to town. I have managed to upgrade my armor, and Roscoe gifted me with a shield. I feel much more confident in my abilities and equipment, I can’t wait to see what the future brings. |
