11/3/2017 0 Comments A Tavern Tale…Later in Week 3by Rawq Elrid (Doug s) 4-6 hsTL;DR: Rawq and fellow adventurers open an obelisk/crypt and fight a hoard of zombies. Roscoe's Recap | Ayten's Recap The tavern is oddly silent and vacant, as Rawq enters followed by Roscoe, Benedict, Morgrimm and, the much taller of the team, Ayten. Dougal is just finishing up a late breakfast as he turns his eyes to the group. Rawq smiles sheepishly and announces, “Good to see you, Dougal! We actually have a tale and a trinket to share with you this fine morning." Benedict walks up to the fully occupied table with a large glass of wine and five small mugs of Dunkel as Rawq continues his recounting of the most recent adventure. “…then we finally chisel our way around the heavy, stone vault door when we feel a rush of stale air escape the chamber. We had open the sealed door, but then the slab crashed down and broke into a few large pieces. Inside, the anticipated darkness was disrupted by four beams of white energy radiating from the corners of the room to the four corners of the giant, stone spire. As we entered, the beams flickered and dissipated followed by a huge crunching thud as the pointed based of the spike struck hard into the floor. I found magical some inscriptions around the base of the spike, as confirmed by Morgrimm’s divination of magicks, and took rubbings to examine later with arcane experts in town. Ayten, Benedict and Morgrimm discovered elaborate mosaics in fine shape on the chamber walls depicting scenes of some ancient elven race in scenes of combat and judgment.” “Upon closer inspection of the floor at the spire’s point of impact, Roscoe and I found a large circular gate or swirling portal door. There was a metallic box in the center of the portal which contained sixteen small tiles with two-digit numbers etched on the surface of each one. Benedict and Roscoe surmised the tiles were some type of a combination lock puzzle…no doubt remembered from some halfling game played in their youth.” Rawq takes a swig of ale from the undersized mug, glances briefly at Benedict in dissatisfaction, then focuses back on Dougal to progress the story.

10/7/2017 0 Comments meeting longtail of the lizardfolkby THEOBOLD PEACEKEEPER (Alan H.) 26-28 SSTL;DR: Survived bullywug ambush and sent a message to their leader Bullop, partially translated stone marker to the east, met with Longtail of the Lizardfolk and brokered an alliance pending weapons trade and "Chieftain" meeting at the next full moon on 14 High Spring 28SS 1AE After a brief stop in Verloren to investigate info on Duergar, Hobgoblins, and other new races that the New Cadeni Co has reported, I continued on to Black River Island. It is a smaller and harsher settlement than Verloren certainly, but the water of the bayou has a certain….charm. (if you consider an always-uneasy feeling and constant humidity charming, I suppose). I joined Koltatan, Ayten, Morgrimm, and Malmir on a journey to find the rumored and rare sightings of the “lizardfolk” that have appeared to not be hostile toward the exploration parties and have been seen to be fighting the bullywugs occasionally. Marchwarden Dugal was grateful to finally receive a member of the Heralds, which had been chartered by the council to represent Sanctus in diplomatic matters. After grouping to have a plan of our route, Malmir and I were able to partially translate the rubbing of the stone landmark down the river to the west. Due to the rubbing and the foreign nature of the language and context, it was shoddy at best. Maybe once we get there and see it in person, we can translate it more accurately. 9/30/2017 0 Comments I couldn't save herby ayten gilrin (vera d) 14-18 ssTLDR; Astrid is dead; scouting Fort Providence, animal watering hole (sorrel!), bullywug encounter. Day 1: 14 Spring Swell AE I arrived in Black River Island this morning. Eilis wasn’t here. She’s gone. She’s gone back to Verloren. Astrid is dead. She’s gone. Dead. The pain is indescribable. I look into the mirror and see her looking back at me. She stands before me, but she’s not here nor there. And I couldn’t save her. I live only to endure the rest of my days as the breathing memorial of my other half. - A. Day 2: 15 Spring Swell AE Encountered a curious set of vines blocking our path towards Fort Providence. They seemed sentient. We gave it wide berth to avoid an entanglement. Cyclorana australis, giant frog, kept as pets by the bullywugs. Green and brown on the dorsal surface. Longitudinal skin folds with a second pair on the flanks. Tympanum is partially covered and distinct. Rear toes have light webbing and front toes are free from webbing. by udoroth Thammilidaar (kelsey w.) 14-18 ssBlack River Island & The Bayou The last four days proved to be little help as I prepared for my next journey into the bayou. No one on Black River Island seems to know anything about bullywugs or their purpose at Fort Providence. Even the Warden, who knows more languages than almost everyone I have ever met, can’t teach me one word in the bullywug language. There has to be a way… More visitors arrived today, some of which looked suitable for the challenges I hoped to tackle the upcoming morning. Wait - who is that? That male elf looks awfully familiar, white hair, almost like…did Eilis mention having a brother? I confidently introduced myself to Ayten Gilrin when I saw him in the tavern, and inquired about his relation to Eilis. It turned out I was correct, and he asked me where I could find her. I informed him that Eilis had left on the boat with several others a few days prior, and without hesitation, I offered my condolences for the loss of their sister, Astrid [I had been with Eilis when she received a letter stating that Astrid had been killed]. I instantly knew that this was new information for Ayten. Shit. Now how am I supposed to ask him to join me in the bayou? Before I could come up with my next words, a dwarf in leather who I would almost describe as lanky for his kind turned up next to me, and took Ayten’s hands in what looked like a peace offering. Monks….this monk. Swiftwater? |
