We were supposed to meet with representatives of the Fist at the safe house at midnight, but the morning before Thrugg thought it would be a good idea to summon some wolves with his damn accordion! And oh boy Gaia did he summon some wolves! When he started playing awful music, four winter wolves with bright blues eyes came charging at us! Along with the old gang of Salazar, Thrugg, and Dwain, we had two new members in our party Gaia. The first was Jeramiah, a half-orc who appears to be quite skilled in magic, and Doross, a poor half-elf who was frozen to death by one of the white wolves in this encounter. Short of introducing himself I don’t believe I even heard him say a word. His frozen body has been placed in front of the entrance of the Thieves Tankard in honor of his memory. His death is on Thrugg’s hands Gaia, and I hope this traveler’s deceased soul finds peace with you. This battle with the white wolves was the last thing we needed to be involved in right before the meeting. We shouldn’t even be fighting wolves as they, like all living things, are one with you. We should be fighting the undead! But I digress…

To whom it may concern, I recently helped a group in Summerport get to a meeting with The Reclaimed Fist. I don’t see how it could have gone worse. Before we even leave Doross was killed by Winterwolves and I myself might have died if it not for my natural hardiness. We head to the meeting and one of the representatives (Salazar) assaulted one of the contacts and was ejected from the meeting, which would be a big problem but even worse is the uncohesivness of the party. With every question from the fist every member of the party supplied different information.I do not see how this group could be trusted by any group. No one has a single agenda or allegiance. We did see some mystical stuff with wolves and an obelisk, and apparently the kenku have made an allience with the wolves. We were also informed that there is a great undead threat coming to the area of Summerport. I think any investment should be put on hold until someone can be sent to lead this unorganized lot. Otherwise more people may die. Seriously send help. Jerimiah by Theobold peacekeeper (alan H.) 13 SpringfellSee Fagan's Recap | See Kohaku's Recap It seems The Fist have been closer than we thought. As we began planning an expedition to find them in Eastern Seaward to the North East, we noticed tankards emptying left and right. It turns out a youth from The Fist was in our midst this whole time, a young girl named Tilith. We learned quite a bit from her. The Fist all have necklaces that provide them warmth and protect them from the cold elements. I have offered her to come freely into the tavern and trade them for ale if she wishes, as I’m sure many would find them useful. She seemed excited by this and made the magic necklaces sound very common amongst her people. She also informed us of the embassy group planned to arrive on SF 14, tomorrow, and who they are. Its a group of traders and tribesmen that have a network that spans more of Summerport, including a place called Kegrove. She also mentioned an enclave of monks across the city. I wish we could have learned more, but she seemed overwhelmed by guilt at getting caught and vanished from our sight again as soon as we looked away from her. We then headed toward the Obelisk in preparation of heading to Eastern Seaward, and much to my dismay found that all of the inscriptions were missing. The only difference I could think of is that we found the inscriptions at night, so maybe that has something to do with the cause. Kohaku had a brilliant idea to shed magical moonlight on it, and sure enough, it revealed the foreign markings of the Eladrin that we managed to get 7 pages of vigorous rubbings from. On our way back from the adventure, in the bright moonlight of 13 SF, I was able to clearly make out the entire northeast wall of the obelisk and will work to translate what I found. 12/13/2017 0 Comments A letter from fagan to namfoodleby fagan (Jason M.) 13 SpringfellSee also Theobold's Recap | Kohaku's Recap
Dear brother, I hope you are faring well back at Black River Island. I took this trip to Summerport in search of "work" but there seems to be little need for my skills here. Oddly named, this place, as it is colder than any place I've been before. I disembarked from my voyage and met a group of adventurers in a place named The Thieves' Tankard. Perhaps named for the invisible thief that runs around stealing your drink before you've had a chance to take a sip. Certainly not for the wellspring of rogues in the place; I saw not a one. An extremely chatty bard name Theobold explained that we were to seek out a group of humans that some bird people wanted removed from the city. It sounded like a decent opportunity to employ some deception, or maybe even persuasion, but our plans were quickly upended by the invisible girl thief Tilith who explained that there was a meeting set up between the two parties the following day. Instead it was decided we would investigate an obelisk in the city. Our travel to the object was disappointingly uninterrupted. Theobold was looking for some sort of inscription on the obelisk but nothing appeared. A druid in our party offered - rather longwindedly - to shine moonlight on the monolith. This worked and the two wizards with us, Mendartis and Blizkin, produced some parchment to make rubbings at my suggestion. 12/13/2017 0 Comments YOU DID ACCEPT TO BEING OUR CHAMPION.by kohaku (Matt S.) 13 spring fellTL;DR: Party discovers a new race of bunnies who speak in "Fluffy." With a sigh, Kohaku laid his head gently on the wooden table. “This place is so confusing,” he said with a sigh. When he’d woken up this morning, he had expected it to be cold. And it was. In fact, during his prayers and meditation, he’d divined that this cold was truly unnatural. He’d expected to inspect the obelisk again. The party he’d joined—Theobold, Fagan, Blizkin, Mindartis, Ivan, and Tharrus—had attempted to look at the inscriptions. But for some reason, when they had approached the obelisk that morning, the inscriptions had gone. I’m just glad I could help. Thinking about how he’d seen the obelisk before, he had reasoned the lack of moonlight might have been the reason for the lack of carvings. Praying to Selûne, Kohaku had asked her to shine down her glorious moonlight. Doing so revealed the ancient writing once more. Some rubbings had been taken, and it proved that the obelisk’s secrets could only be discovered on a moonlit night. That night, in fact, a shaft of moonlight had illuminated the western portion of the obelisk. Theobold had managed to memorize it. Hopefully it reveals more about the battle between good and evil that those carvings supposedly discuss. Kohaku was tired. He’d had to cast many spells that day, most of them as the party had returned from trying to make contact with the human settlement in East Summerport (or Winterport—every faction called this place something else). Two ghouls had been feasting on…something, in one of the previously cleared buildings right across the street from the tavern. With Blizkin’s grease, some fae lights and Kenku illusions, Kohaku’s spikes, and enough fire to burn down an entire forest, the ghouls had been put down. Shaking his head, Kohaku rubbed his eyes and smiled slightly. “At least Blizkin was able to douse the flames before any permanent damage could ensue.” With a dull thunk, a mug of ale was put in front of him. He took a sip, swirling the foamy liquid. “Tilith, huh,” he muttered. That morning, before setting off, some of his compatriots’ ale kept disappearing. Kohaku may still have been getting used to his newly-enhanced hearing, but it had proved its worth when he’d caught the ale thief whispering. As the thief attempted to escape into the crowd, Kohaku managed to grasp them with his Thorn Whip. As the thief was reeled in, the magic they had used to conceal themselves seemed to dissipate. A young human girl had appeared, wearing a necklace set with rubies and sapphires. She had introduced herself as Tilith, a member of the Fist. She had told them of the group of humans coming to meet with the party tomorrow. She also revealed that her necklace kept her protected, in part, from the unearthly cold the land shivered under. Maybe when the meeting with the Fist’s Treaters happened, they could figure out some way of trading for these necklaces. We’ll have to make sure there’s enough ale on hand, Kohaku thought, with another sip. Tilith had gone through…seven? Eight? An inordinately large number of mugs before she’d left. I wonder what the deal with her father is, though. The party had encountered Tilith before they’d left for the obelisk. But another meeting awaited them after the rubbings were done. The embassy on the shard’s northeastern edge had been locked; Kohaku rubbed at his bruised shoulder. But walking to the courtyard on the side further into town, they’d found some doors. They’d also found two white rabbits, dressed in clothes that befitted nobility. The rabbits had scrolls in their mouths, but upon spotting the group, they’d promptly dropped them into the snow, and run inside, splitting up along the way. Standing outside the door, Theobold and Kohaku performed the rituals necessary for them to speak with the rabbits. Meanwhile, Mendartis had sent his familiar upwards, inspecting the rest of the building. The embassy had turned out to be three stories tall, with a pleasure area on the roof. The rest of the group had inspected the rabbits’ scrolls, but they were blank. |
