1/8/2018 0 Comments First taste of Adventureby Naill Amakiir (Jason M.) 8 Summer RiseSee Tharrus's Recap
“There must have been ten of them at least! They just kept coming! We’d cut ‘em down and they just get back up. Never seen anything like it in my life. And the one guy… waaay bigger than the others! When he bashed in the barricade, I’m not ashamed to say I got a little scared. But the other fellas with me were fully capable. We took ‘em down, no sweat. I even killed the big one, myself! The people in here seemed pretty unfazed, I guess the undead are a regular occurence. I was super impressed by Tharrus. He dug right into the big guy and found a ring in his chest! I didn’t know such things were possible! I got a lot to learn about adventuring, I guess…” He leans in to whisper, “Oh and that guy Wyne? He snatched a wineskin off the dead ogre and chugged it straight down. Then started wandering off to look for more. We decided to follow him…ya know, to protect him and stuff.” “When we caught up to him he admitted he was looking for some kind of totem, which I guess brings the undead around? We ended up in a kind of square with a well in the middle. I noticed some glowing figures floating and dancing around the well! Nobody else did, which was super weird, but eventually they believed me. I was pretty scared at first, but it seemed really interesting and it kept calling to me. I decided to be brave and go for it. When I got close I started dancing and I couldn’t stop! It felt great! I called to the others to join and everyone except the lizard guy and Guyuh did. (He sure likes to say his name a lot.) “And then the weirdest thing happened! We all woke up in this white space. Like nothing was around except this dancing wooden pole in the center of us. It started talking to us… Totally weird! We tried to impress it with our dance moves and Tharrus even turned into a wolf. The pole must have liked him best because it suddenly turned into a tree-lady! She was super nice, but she did a weird thing. She broke off her finger and gave it to Tharrus! She said her finger could direct the undead and that we had freed her with our dancing. Cool! The next thing we knew, we were back at the well and it was daytime. We all felt super awesome from our time with the tree lady. “We went off to find some undead to practice with the staff, and the others got distracted by some weirdo bird-people playing cards. They started tossing scalps on the table for money and I just sat back and watched. I don’t have so much money so I didn’t want to spend any of it. I need to save everything I can…”

1/8/2018 0 Comments Tharrus and the staffby Tharrus (Mike B.) 8 Summer RiseFought 4 zombies and 1 zombie ogre just outside of the Tankard. The ogre zombie kept to the shadows when it advanced and was carrying a zombie on its back so it could breach the barricade. They are getting smarter… Found a magic ring inside the chest cavity of the ogre that will hold up to 100 gold coins/spell components etc.
Played poker with a Kenku, and I (Tharrus) won the poker game and now have 50 scalps in my possession. Gross, but they will likely be useful later. Wooden staff hovering over a well with 5 ghost like figures circling it. The figures were not aggressive. One of the party (Horras) decided to interact with a figure and he then involuntarily became dancing and circling the wooden totem. Eventually 5 of the 7 party group (including NPC Wyne) joined in on the dancing and we were all taken to an area with a female Treant (she did not give her name) she told us that by dancing around the totem we have broken the spell that had her trapped. She also told us that there were 4 (maybe 5 I can’t remember) more totems in the city. She also told us that the totem could direct the undead. Once she released back into the city, a night had passed. Horras caught a single leaf that fell from the sky and we then tested the totem in what was an old plumbing store. There were 5 undead hands on the counter and I was able to command them to release the brushes that they were holding. We took the brushes, of course, and went back to the Tankard to reunite with Salazar and the Paladin obsessed with Gaia. Luckily Theobold Peacekeeper was milling about the Tankard (Via Discord) and was able to identify the ring. As he tried to identify the staff he immediately dropped it and warned that is was evil in nature. The powers of this staff should help us clear out the undead horde surrounding one of the totems. We hope… 11/30/2017 0 Comments Make Summerport Great AGain!by theobold peacekeeper (Alan H) 23HS 1AETL;DR Make Summerport Great Again. Kenku live in “Winterport”. Adventure is open! Account from Theobold Peacekeeper: Our ship, the “Whisper Dawn” arrived in Summerport under interesting circumstances. Two ships were actually fleeing the city as we arrived, and dropped us with two adventurers, Thrugg and Dwain, that were supposedly behind the reason they fled. Tales of undead and wolves were on their lips. As our boat sailed along the coast, a giant constrictor snake boarded the boat from the cliffs and we made short work of it, especially with Dorros’s distracting moves. Summerport had an unexpected surprise, as we got closer the temperature dropped from tropical to downright freezing. The bay of the port was even blocked by ice! I did not come equipped for this…. Our guides, Thrugg and Durros, were certainly interesting as they began leading us to the Thieves Tankard, a supposed stronghold of civilians. They claimed to be from a past when the city was whole, nearly 700 years ago. They both seem mentally unsound, so I am skeptical of their words. As we approached our destination, we spotted an ambush ahead of some sort of feathered humanoids. With a well-placed entangle from Tharrus, they were caught in the vines and their ambush thwarted. Only one Kenku fell before I convinced the leader to stand his men down, just as a lizardman, Salazar approached with guards of his own from the other side. Unliked the lizardfolk of the bayou, Salazar spoke perfect common, as he told us he was part of this group from 700 years ago, presumably before the Cataclysm. I am still reeling from this knowledge and cannot wait to probe them further on the knowledge they might have. 9/5/2017 0 Comments Lumbering onby glin ybendawien droat (Kep a.) 6-9 ss(8 days before arrival)
I have arrived at the port for my journey to Black River Island. I attempted to get confirmation that I would be allowed on board by presenting a letter written by Boremar explaining the substitution of his presence, but I could not find anyone that would even acknowledge that there was even a passenger manifest, much less that such confirmation from authority was necessary for me to board a ship. All the easier for me without the stress of being possibly denied passage. While settling down for my last night on Sanctus, a young wood elf caught me asking a toad about the weather and we struck up a conversation. Apparently he had traveled with the same caravan as me once or twice and I had forgotten, once again the presence of a solitary gnome is more memorable. Him and his companions will be looking for a new source of lumber and are willing to let me accompany them, at least for a short while, for what help I can offer. 6th of Springswell I’ve been on this ship for 6 days now surrounded by folk of all types. Many adventurers surprisingly eager to charge into the unknown, undoubtedly for at least a few it will be to their doom. Some of my compatriots seem to have confused me for a deckhand and I believe at least one assumed I was a stowaway right before he assured me that my secret was safe with him. I may not look like most of the others on this ship, but I would have guess that more of them could recognise a collage wizard when they saw one. No matter, I’m not here to raise research funds. Sea travel is not kind to my constitution, but I have managed to find a way to read while in a hammock that minimizes the motion of the waves. I was lucky enough to find a tomb with records of an encounter with some natives of the island, the bullywugs. Fascinating creatures, but if I ever have the chance to see one, it is probably a bad day. 7th of Springswell We’ve landed! The new arrivals we greeted by a Dougal Ainsley, a oversized human with a jaded look, but capable enough given the conditions. I spent the remaining hours of the day investigating the settlement and surrounding area. Most of the new arrivals later gathered in galley for food and drink, song and dance. There was even an unexpectedly marvelous performance by a young halfling maden. She was followed by an obviously better known elven bard that gave a… let’s say adequate performance. I’m sure he would have been more impressive if my musical tastes weren’t so recently elevated by the petite savant. |
