Eilis's Recap The day started as normal, everyone is gathered on the main floor, eating breakfast, getting ready for the day. Bryn comes in with Horus and they lead the Tankard in prayer. As he concludes Captain Falanden enters the tankard with new stock and a few new travellers. The captain asked use a favor, to build a dock so that it is easier for the Board and Associates to bring supplies into port. I will make sure that once other tasks are done we will get right on it. I see a new face in the tankard, it is an Elvish woman, she seems lost, but she also seems able bodied to help us wipe out the undead. Bryn and Kre$H join us at the table and inquire what needs to be done today. I inform them all that we need to investigate a building that Dwain was able to tell me was a safehouse, and if we do that, there is a wolf den near there we could also inspect. After that we could head east to slay the undead. It must have sounded good because they all get up and head for the door. As we go on our way we arrive at the obelisk. The dead bodies of the time travellers that arrived with us in this new Summerport are still lying there. I tell the others I will catch up to them soon and stay behind. I remember my agreement with the Kenku, human scalps will help our relations with them. I pull out my dagger and scalp the 5 corpses I can see, I know there are more in the area, I will have to come back later for the others. I put them in my pack and head on my way. At the safe house Kre$H is already there pounding on the door. It seems she is running into the same problem I was the other night. Strong door and no one is home. Eilis, the new arrival, is a smart one if that. She had brilliantly thought to look around the back of the house for another door. Which she found….wide open. It is beyond me, why I did not think of this the other night. The cold must be freezing my brain. As we walk in, the first thing to catch my eye is a map. But it is more that a map, this map looks to be fully detailed of the surrounding area, but I don’t know what some of these markings mean. I’ll have to try and decipher it later. Eilis by this point has called for us to come downstairs. As I approach the door to the stairwell, I take notice of claw marks on the doorway. I put my hand up against it, even at my size, my claws are dwarfed by this mark. I take caution as I enter the basement, My bow is starting to faintly glow, as for now, I believe that I am the only one that notices this.
Eilis seems to have found a secret passage leading underneath the building, to where do not know. But as I approach, my bow glows a little brighter. Kre$h takes the lead by lighting a torch, I was happy to be far enough away, the flames are starting to not frighten me as much but still, I must remain alert. We make our way through the tunnel and come to a four way crossing. Not knowing which way to go, I just step out in front, lift my bow and wait for its glow to grow brighter when I point it to a path. It seems that the path to our left, had the best result. Kre$h leads the way again, but now my bow is growing brighter and brighter. The group seems to want to press on, I try to warn them of the danger, I prep an arrow just in case. My instincts were correct, a giant rat jumps out of the shadows straight for Kre$h. I let loose my arrow, pinning the beast to the war behind it. As if it was being watched, a shriek of despair comes from our left. “ESCOBAR!!!!!, NO MY FRIEND, YOU KILLED MY FRIEND.” A wererat has come out of the shadows. He does not seem threatening and seems to have cared deeply for this rat I have just slaughtered. I know that I will not be able to console this creature so I press on. We ask who he is and why he is in the sewers. He says his name is Genji and that he is part of a group called The Fist, an Anti-slaving human group originally from Summerport. That they are the Ancestors of those in Summerport who survived the Great Cataclysm. He mentions that he is in the sewers because he is hiding from the werewolves of Widow’s Rest. We then casually mention that we left the door open and he rushes passed us from where we came. Back in the safehouse, with the doors secured Genji sits down and continues to inform us of the Kenku. Making sure that we are not his enemy, he asks us all if we work for the Kenku. Not wanting to spoil this great opportunity to learn more about the city and possibly the Kenku, I do not inform him that I might be already. He tells us that the Kenku had run all the humans out of the city and have taken over the area to the east completely. That they hate the humans because that they thought they were slaves. They however, were never slaves, they were paid proper wages for the work the had done, but were not satisfied. So the overthrew the humans living in Summerport and now seek to kill the all. The Fist has tried peaceful negotiations in the past, all have failed. But what strikes me, I am starting to understand that The Fist, are the Humans that the Kenku want us to get rid of for them. This can’t happen, not anymore. Genji says he has something to show us and he goes looking for his map. He must be forgetful. The map was not on the table he swore he left it on, but it was on the end table near me, so I hand it to him. He points out all the areas he has scouted in Widow’s Rest. And that these several markings on the map are actually the hideouts the werewolves use. And that there are more than 50 werewolves in the entire area, the hideouts are heavily fortified, and that each hideout has no less than 30 hostile creatures at any given time. I am astonished that Genji has not only been so trusting to us, but also that he has willingly given us this information. As one of the new proprietors of the Tankard, I offer him and those who have the authority to negotiate an invitation to the Thieves’ Tankard, and that they will not be harmed when they are within our gates. That it would be in our best interest to work together to make Summerport great again. He agrees and we set a date for their arrival. As this unexpected meeting comes to an end we make our way east back towards the obelisk, with the intent to wipe out some undead. But we almost got more than we asked for. As we approach the obelisk, we can see in the distance 5 figures standing in a line facing us. I let loose an arrow and sticks out of one of the creatures. They continue moving forward, this confirms that these creatures are more undead. As four of the undead charge us, one turns and runs for the obelisk. As it reaches it, it lifts its hand and presses it to the obelisk. Then a blue light radiates from the obelisk. Seeing this, I ensnare the monster in thorny vines to try and stop it, it eventually escapes and runs out of my sight. I chase it down as does Kre$h. But it is too late, by the time I am able to see it again, the obelisk is glowing blue, it lets out a scream and 5 skeletons rise from under the snow. It was a daunting task, but we all eventually fell these undead. It looks like we need to recover before we continue to the Southeast, so we agree to return to the Tankard. It is a good thing too, I know that my original comrades will need this information. I hope they understand what it could mean for us.
